I don't think it is possible to overemphasize the significance and importance of Daniel's Seventy Weeks.

There are hundreds of prophecies in the Old Testament that were fulfilled at Christ's first coming. Some of the prophecies are limited to a verse or two, while others extend to full chapters and more (Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53 are examples).

In Daniel 9:24-27, we have an Old Testament prophecy that, with mathematical precision, points directly to Jesus in time and space and clearly identifies him as the Messiah promised to the Jews.

Daniel's Seventy Weeks bridges, literally, the Old Testament with the New and confirms that Jesus is the Messiah.

In Daniel's Seventy Weeks, there is clearly a gap between Daniel 9:26 and Daniel 9:27, with the events described by Daniel 9:25-26 having already taken place, and the events described by Daniel 9:27 still in the future (leading to the culmination of events listed out in Daniel 9:24). This gap reinforces the concept of a dispensational Age of Grace, a period of time unknown to the Old Testament prophets, an age revealed to the apostle Paul and others.

In one single verse of the Bible, Daniel 9:27, the time frame of the end of the age is presented. This is Daniel's Seventieth Week. It is the blueprint of the end times.

It will be seven years in duration.
It begins when “he”, the “prince that shall come” in Daniel 9:26, the Antichrist, confirms a covenant with many of the Jews, essentially signing a peace treaty with Israel.
There will be a Jewish Temple present during this time, because ...
In the middle of the week, after 3½ years, in the Temple, the Antichrist will “cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.”
The Antichrist's action mid-week, the “overspreading of abominations,” will trigger the Great Tribulation.
The Antichrist will persecute the Jews, along with believing Gentiles, until “the consummation,” when Antichrist himself shall be made “desolate” (or be defeated).

And finally, at the end of the Seventieth Week, at the conclusion of the tribulation, the events listed in Daniel 9:24 will come to pass.

The transgression will be finished.
Sins (or Sin) will come to an end.
Reconciliation will be made for iniquity.
Everlasting righteousness will come to pass.
The vision and prophecy will be sealed.
The most Holy will be anointed.

The final conclusions we can make from the Seventy Weeks are the most significant of all. The words of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, are true and were inspired by God. God knows what will happen in the future, down to the day, hour, and minute. And, finally, God has a purpose for why he communicates. He wants you to know. He wants you to believe.
