Bible Search

The Bible Search tool searches for words or a phrase in any part of the King James Version of the Bible. 

The Bible Search box includes options to:

• Match All words entered, Any word entered, or only the words as an Exact phrase (i.e., in the order entered). 
  
  Try It Now — Searching in Acts for “believe God” would match:
  With All words: 3 verses that have both the word “believe” and “God”. 
  With Any word: 166 verses that have either the word “believe” or “God”. 
  With Exact phrase: 1 verse that has the exact word order “believe God”. 

• Match on Complete words (the entered words match the found words exactly) or Partial words (the entered words match some part of the found words). 
  
  Try It Now — Searching in Colossians for “spirit” would match:
  With Complete words: 2 verses that have the word “spirit”. 
  With Partial words: 4 verses that have either the word “spirit” or “spiritual”. 

• Search Range can be through the Entire Bible, or limited to just the Old Testament or the New Testament. 

• Search Range can also be limited to a Starting at book and an Ending at book. 

• Display Limit can be set to a maximum of 10, 50, 100, 500, or 1000 verse matches. 

Search Range Notes:

• Starting at book and Ending at book, when entered, always take precedence over other Search Range selections (like Entire Bible). 

• When a Starting at book is entered without an Ending at book, the Search Range will be limited to the Starting at book. 

• When an Ending at book is entered without a Starting at book, the Search Range will be limited to the Ending at book.
