Bible Reader

The Bible Reader tool provides access to any book, chapter, and verse of the King James Version of the Bible.

The Bible Reader box includes the following links at the top:

Read — Bible Reader tool (this page).
Search — Bible Search tool.
TOC — Table of Contents. When a Bible verse or chapter is being displayed, the TOC link will position to that chapter description.
Harmony — Gospel Harmony. This link only appears when a verse or chapter from Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John is being displayed. The Harmony link will bring up that verse or chapter's position within the Gospel Harmony (will position to the associated verse block, not necessarily to the verse itself).

Along with the text display and navigation links to move forward or backward through the verses and chapters, the Bible Reader also provides several Study with links to allow the displayed verse or chapter to be further researched on another Bible site. The following Study with links are offered, each tied to the chapter or verse being displayed:

B — Biblos — Search, Read, Study the Bible.
BG — Bible Gateway — Getting the Word Out.
BLB — Blue Letter Bible — The Word Magnified.
CW — Crosswalk — The Intersection of Faith and Life.
SGW — Search God's Word — From Heartlight.

Each of these Bible sites has its strengths and weakness over the others. They all have translations available besides KJV. They provide concordances and commentaries, parallel views, lexicons, and more. Try them out and use the ones best suited to your needs.

When the Bible Reader is not displaying a full chapter, the following links are available:

Chapter — View the full chapter of the verse or verses being displayed.
Context — View the full chapter with the verse or verses being displayed highlighted.

When the Bible Reader is displaying a full chapter, the following link is available:

Listen — Listen to the chapter being narrated.

The narrator is Dan Wagner. The original source for the recordings is located at Audio Scriptures, but the copies I use are from Audio Treasure. One source I saw said the narration is “slow,” but I disagree. I would call the narration “careful, accurate, and deliberate.” No frills, just the Bible being read, plain and simple. Rarely do I see him dropping or changing a word. And I love to hear his pronounciation of both the Hebrew names and the old English words (Thus saith the LORD!).

Music — Listen to the chapter along with musical accompaniment.
